This is a link to an article regarding the current poverty situation in Yemen. Their economy is one of the slowest growing in the Middle East, but it is growing. However, many immigrants from Somalia make the number of homeless people very high. The article includes an interview with a Somalian woman who came over with her five children to escape the war in Somalia only to find that the situation in Yemen is not much better. 43 percent of the population is making under $2 per day. This is ridiculous! I didn't know that it was such an impoverish country, it is really shocking.-AB

AB, this is quite amazing for these people to be making $2 a day. Here in America $2 an hour is an outragously low salary but over there thats their full day pay. So therefore Monday through Friday the family would live off of $10. $10 dollars in our country might buy you some milk and bread. I agree with you 100% that it is truely ridiculous and I sincerly hope that Yemen rises above there poverty.-ak
I see the point your trying to make from this article and I believe it is a very valid one. The amount of poverty in many Middle East is terrifying and very sad. One of the saddest parts about it is what can be done to end poverty in this region? Is there anyway or anyways that poverty can be eliminated in the Middle East? I know off the top of peoples heads they would say yes and that they could raise money. But this cannot solve the problem it is so huge and needs to be taken care of, but again How can that be done?
